Responsible Investment

We are committed to responsible investing – ensuring that environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices are embedded in all facets of our business – because it provides a shared advantage for investors and other stakeholders.

Our Culture

CBRE Caledon is committed to constructing portfolios with sustainable, long-term performance. We believe that adopting a culture of responsible investing helps us deliver performance for our investors and creates value by reducing risks. Therefore, ESG factors are considered at all stages of the investment lifecycle, from due diligence to the management of our infrastructure and private equity portfolios. We provide investors with transparent reporting on our ESG initiatives and progress towards our goals.

Environmental Responsibility

CBRE Caledon, through CBRE Global Investors – it’s parent company – supports the 10 Principles of the United Nations Global Compact, the six Principles for Responsible Investment (“PRI”), and the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (“SDGs”). Globally and regionally, CBRE Global Investors actively participates in the ESG initiatives of key organizations including the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark’s (“GRESB”) Real Estate Advisory Board and ESG Data Quality Technical Working Group, the Urban Land Institute’s (“ULI”) Sustainability Council, Better Buildings Partnership (“BBP”), and the UN Environment Programme Financial Initiative’s (“UNEP FI”) Property Working Group.

We are committed to the ongoing development of our ESG policies, procedures and best practices. For our pooled infrastructure fund, we are in the process of developing climate-related risk disclosures in line with the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (“TCFD”) principles. We have also progressed preparations to make annual submissions to GRESB’s real asset index.

Sustainable Investment

CBRE Caledon is committed to investing in a responsible manner for its pooled vehicles and separate accounts. CBRE Caledon’s infrastructure investment themes, including digital infrastructure, renewable energy, water infrastructure and sustainable transportation, are closely aligned with ESG considerations and the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals (“SDGs”). Across our infrastructure and private equity platform, we have invested in renewables, clean energy and smart technologies that result in reductions in carbon emissions and a greater efficiency in energy and water usage.
